We didn’t start Chiru Sports with a grand plan or a business blueprint. It all began with a simple desire to stay connected to basketball while balancing our corporate careers. We’ve spent years playing the game—at the national, state, corporate, school and collegiate levels—and we couldn’t shake our love for it.
Morning coaching sessions at an apartment on our way to work became the spark that ignited something bigger. The flexibility of our jobs allowed us to dedicate time to these sessions, that not only made our mornings more productive but also helped us adopt a healthier morning routine. And, over time, we realized just how much impact we could make. Coaching became more than just a fun side gig; it became a mission to give back, to teach, and to help others grow through basketball.
Through those early days of coaching, we saw something crucial missing in the sports coaching landscape: organization. The industry was largely fragmented — often run by individuals the coaching programs were inconsistent, onboarding was unstructured, irregular schedules, sometimes unwelcoming coaching culture and there was little connection with players outside of practice. We knew we could bring more to the table.
So, in 2023, we formalized what we had been doing all along—creating a brand that people could trust. Chiru Sports was founded with the goal of delivering structured, reliable, and high-quality basketball coaching to players of all ages and skill levels. We wanted to do things differently—simpler, better, and more engaging.
At Chiru Sports, we offer more than just basketball training. We provide a pathway for players of all ages and skill levels to improve their game, enhance their fitness, and build strong character. Our mission is to create fitness and basketball learning opportunities that fit into every lifestyle, whether you're an adult looking for a way to stay fit, a young player eager to learn, or even a professional wanting to fine-tune your skills.
We’re constantly learning and evolving, staying on top of the latest coaching techniques and using technology to enhance our programs. Our vision is to make basketball not just a sport, but a tool for lifelong fitness, personal growth, and community building. We believe that basketball should be fun, accessible, and impactful for all. That’s what drives us every day!
My basketball journey was shaped at St. Joseph's Indian High School and Christ University, experiences that laid the foundation for a lifelong career in the sport. I also had the privilege of being part of the formative years of the A-division league team at MN Krishna Rao Club. These provided me with numerous opportunities to play competitive games at state, national, college and inter-corporate tournaments. Today, I continue to mentor and strategize for our club sub-junior and junior teams for their state level competitions.
In my professional career, I've gained experience across various industries, including working as an iOS app developer for global clients like Lexus and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, ensuring the delivery of top-notch, customer-centric products. I’ve also ventured into the start-up space, co-founding Inspire Race, where we shared the stories of entrepreneurs to inspire others, and Be The Miracle, a pre-incubated IIMB start-up that trained over 5,000 students on learning styles and values.
At Chiru Sports, I bring together my diverse experiences in basketball, media, education, and startups to drive our mission forward—creating a professional, innovative environment for basketball learners of all ages.
My basketball journey began at the age of 11 with Devanga Union Sports Club in Bengaluru. Since then, basketball has played a pivotal role in my life, from my time at SAI’s integrated program with St. Joseph's Indian High School, at DYES Kanteerava Stadium, to representing my club, school, and college at state and nationals across all age categories. Winning a medal at the national level for Karnataka remains the pinnacle of my competitive career in the sport. I've also enjoyed competing in inter-corporate tournaments throughout my professional career.
In addition to my passion for basketball, my most recent stint was at a Bangalore-based fintech start-up, where I led projects in SMS, credit bureau data, credit and data infrastructure. My career has also included roles at Capital One in the USA at their headquarters location in Virginia, where I specialized in data and business analysis working with their chatbot and commercial card teams. With a strong belief in the power of machine learning, I bring a unique blend of expertise in both basketball and data-driven innovation.
At Chiru Sports, I combine my love for basketball and data to create structured, insightful coaching experiences, helping players develop both on and off the court.
